Course Description
B.Sc. Physician Assistant is a four year (3 years + 1-year internship) full-time undergraduate programme offered by Manipal College of Health Professions, MAHE. B.Sc. Physician Assistant programme trains the students in a medical model to practice medicine as part of the healthcare team. The course qualifies the candidates to conduct physical examinations, treat illnesses, order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies, counsel on healthcare issues, prepare patients for surgery and take care of patients after surgery.
Focus of the Course
The PA programme involves both didactic lectures and clinical education training focusing on the basic medical sciences, and medical and surgical disciplines including medicine, ENT, paediatrics, emergency medicine, orthopaedics, cardiac sciences, neuro-sciences, endocrinology, oncology and general surgery.
