39th Annual Conference of Rajasthan Economic Association

The 39th Rajasthan Economic Association Annual Conference was organized by Dept. Economics, Manipal 30 - 31 March 2019. The 39th REA Conference has been organized on the central theme of "Globalization & Governance: Socio - Economic Perspectives". The Conference was inaugurated by Prof. Ravindra H Dholakia, Member, Monetary Policy Committee, Reserve Bank of India as chief guest and Prof. Vijay Vir Singh, Niti Aayog Chair, Rajasthan as guest of . The inaugural session was presided by Prof G K Prabhu, President, Manipal .

The Conference received a good response and received approximately 60 papers from all across the country. Prof Dholakia delivered his keynote address to the delegates and economists and argued that governance is an integral part of the process of Globalization. First V. S. was organized in was delivered by Prof Vijay Vir Singh on the very contemporary topic of 'Agricultural Distress'. The session was presided by Prof Prabhat Ranjan, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur.

A Panel Discussion was held where eminent panelists like Prof Vijay Shrotriya from Delhi School of Economics shared his on from of Globalization, Prof Ambika Pratap Singh, Professor, LMNIT Jaipur addressed the panel in context of Banking & Globalization and Prof Anil Mehta, Professor, Rajasthan University delivered a discussion over HR policies in light of Globalization. The plenary session was moderated & concluded by Prof N D Mathur, Director, School of Humanities & Social Sciences & Director, Students Welfare, Manipal .

Three technical sessions on three different themes were organized in the were chaired by Prof Vijay Shrotriya, Professor, Delhi School of Economics, Dr Manvinder Singh Pahwa and M. L. , Director, School of Business Administration & Commerce, Manipal . Papers on relevant themes like quality higher education, health expenditure, stock market & Globalization, rural livelihood, financial were presented by delegates from National Law University, Jodhpur, Punjabi University, Patiala, Central University of Rajasthan, Aligarh Muslim University, Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur, University of Rajasthan etc. Certificates to presenters were given in Valedictory session on 31st March and Sh. N M Ranka, Senior Advocate and eminent tax lawyer, High Court of Rajasthan was the Chief Guest. The session was presided by Dr Jai Singh Rathore from Institute of Development studies.

The Conference concluded vote of thanks from Dr Mahendra Parihar, Head, Dept. of Economics & Organizing Secretary, 39th REA Annul Conference.

Following the precedence, the new core committee elections were held for Rajasthan Economic Association. Prof N D Mathur was elected as President of REA unanimously and Dr Mahendra Parihar was elected as Vice President, REA. Dr Shilpi Gupta was elected to be Joint Secretary, REA.
