Details:
The Department of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (DLASS), in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Manipal University Jaipur, organised an online guest lecture titled "The Jobs of the Future: Skills for the Changing World" on 18 February 2026 (1:00–2:00 PM). The session featured Professor Russell Tytler, Deakin University, Australia. The lecture addressed the evolving relationship between sustainability transitions, technological innovation, and future workforce demands. The event aimed to create interdisciplinary dialogue between engineering and liberal arts students and faculty, situating employability within broader global, ethical, and sustainability-oriented frameworks aligned with emerging international academic discourse.

Objectives:

• To examine emerging global workforce trends linked to sustainability transitions.
• To explore systems thinking and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills.
• To connect STEM education with future professional identity formation.
• To align student preparedness with SDG-oriented development frameworks.
